Sweet Sixteen - Friday Matchups

Shooters adjust to Lucas Oil Stadium's open space March 26 Indy.com

Shooting practice was a high priority as the four teams competing in the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament Midwest Regional took the floor today at Lucas Oil Stadium.
The 50-minute practices gave the players an opportunity to adjust to the sightlines in the cavernous stadium. The raised basketball court has been placed in the center of the stadium running in the same direction as the football field. Although large, black curtains are draped at each end of the court, depth perception could be a problem for the shooters.
“We spent our entire 50 minutes on shooting just so we could get used to it,” Arizona coach Russ Pennell said.“It’s huge,” Wildcats guard Kyle Fogg said of the venue. “My shots were really short, but (my teammates) kept telling me not to worry about it and that I’ll knock them down in the game.”Arizona (21-13), a No. 12 seed, faces No. 1-seeded Louisville (30-5) in a game scheduled to begin at 7:07 p.m. Friday. Thirty minutes after that game ends, No. 3 Kansas (27-7) faces No. 2 Michigan State (28-6) in the second regional semifinal. The winners meet Sunday with a trip to next weekend’s Final Four in Detroit on the line.About 1,000 local fans took advantage of the free admission and available courtside seats to watch the open practices.Louisville coach Rick Pitino said the shooting percentage for any team playing in a domed stadium is bound to be down from its norm.“So you’ve got to understand that it takes time to get used to it,” he said. “It’s very important that you take high-percentage shots. I’m hoping we don’t have to rely on just jump-shooting to win

Sweet Sixteen

Dejuan Blair
" I love money, so i act like the basketball is money
when i'm rebounding. I pretend that every rebound is a million dollars. And i'm going to go out and get my millions"
The Hedgie loves money too and that's why we're taking Pitt/Xavier UNDER 139 3 stars
Pitt has seen under 3-1 last 4 games while Xavier is on a 7-2 'under' run. The musketeers have held 9 of their last 10 opponents under 65 points and know the only chance they have to win is with tough defense.
Prediction : Pitt 70 Xavier 62

Hedgie goes Double Jeopardy with Ashley Judd tonight

The hedgie goes at it again on a monday night after being tried and convicted already for a dismal Sunday performance.....

Although Creighton is 27-7 straight up this year, they are an aweful 1-5-1 against the spread lately. Kentucky's Jodie Meeks and Patrick Patterson are both playing well lately. Hedgie will back the live underdog here...
Kentucky +2 2 stars

March Madness

After a long Hiatus celebrating the Gary Russell first TD in Bowl at 18/1 , the hedgie could no longer ignore his buzzing blackberry. There have been many texts, and calls reminding that it's

MARCH MADNESS !!

The madness doesn't just start with the NCAA tourney. The CBI and NIT will present many opportunities as well.

An underrated George Mason team plays at Penn State tonight and gets 6 points. Penn State should not feel snubbed as they are just not that good and don't belong in the dance. Not to mention they will probably come out flat. This game should be low scoring as vegas has a total set of 122. George Mason +6 is the 3 star play !

HAPPY ST PATRICKS DAY !
