The start of this season has The Hedgie a lil more confused than ever.  After 27 years of posting and predicting the Hedgie is trying to find a way to beat the books and it just may be by using the Flux Capacitor to see the future....

For Tonight's game most expect a blowout.  The Bills want the number 1 seed and should have the pedal down.  In the past the Hedgie has liked the angle of betting the DOUBLE DIGIT DIVISIONAL DOG.   But the Miami Dolphins have looked pathetic and mainsream media is reporting that many of the players have already given up on Head Coach Daniels.    The Dolphins have injured DBs and the Bills will be without 2 starting linebackers in Milano and Ed Oliver.    Points should come easy...so

Hedgie can not get behind a rookie QB 's first start on the road on Monday night.  However,  Vikes Head Coach will have a great gameplan and keep things simple for him.   Hedgie expects a deliberate gameplan from both teams .

HEDGIE's NFL WEEK 1 SLATE !

 But first a quick clip on the bad beat from yesterday.  Hedgie had a 4-2 Star weighted Saturday but it should have been 5-1 .  With Ole Miss up 30-20 ( laying 8 points ) and just 13 seconds left , Kentucky  kicked a FG to cut it to 7 .

 Sean McDonough was well aware of the Vegas line in his announcing ....

"And those who occasionally invest on such things , were just impacted by that field goal which brings it to a 7 point game"

1 PM  TEASER ( 2 teams/6 Points )  -  JETS +9 & BUCS +7 -  2 STARS 

            First, The Hedgie wouldn't blame anyone for taking the JETS +3 at home.   Aaron Glenn makes coaching debut and his defense will get after QB Rodgers .  The total for this game is very low set at 38 and has been dipping to  37.5.  Points will be a premium and Hedgie likes the home team getting a full 9 in a teaser.

           The Bucs at Atlanta opened as a 2.5 point favorite . At lanta has become a popular home dog pick the past few days and has driven the line all the way to a pickem and even Atlanta favored in a few spots.  OC Liam Coehn departed to take the Jacksonville HC job , but Baker Mayfield has a grasp on this offense and even without LT Wirfs and WR Godwin they have plenty of talent to win this game.  Atlanta will be starting a new RT on offense. Their starting LT is hurt and out, their backup RT is also hurt.  That leaves fill in Wilkinson to start . The Bucs signed free agent Hassan Reddick in the offseason and he should be very disruptive today.  

1PM : CAROLINA PANTHERS +4.5  1 STAR  

 This line opened as Jags -2.5 . They have a new head coach and there's alot of hype surrounding draft pick Hunter who will be playing 'as an every down wr' .

 But the Hedgie thinks the Jags will have some growing pains out of the gate . The Panthers are perceived to be a poor team but things clicked for them at the end of last season . QB Young started playing well and finished the season with a 7 TD vs 0 Int ratio his last 3 games.   Fade the public money and grab the 4.5 points .   

1PM :  Patriots /Raiders OVER 44  -    1 STAR 

The Patriots brought in  Diggs as a WR and QB Maye has a year under his belt . The Pats will be without their best CB Gonzales.   The Raiders also are revamped . new HC Pete Carroll brought over QB Geno Smith, drafted a stud RB in Jeanty and hired O Coordinator  Chip Kelly.    Hedgie sees more offense in this opener than the public perception and will go over the fairly low total .

NCAA FOOTBALL WEEK 2

 The Hedgie will be posting late today . By 3pm...

7:30pm. Miss St +7. vs Az st    - take the SEC home dog  2 STARS

NFL WEEK 1. - Hedgie's first NFL play of the season - 'I'M HERE TO BALL'

Much has been made of the Micha Parsons trade in the media and the Dallas fans are not happy .  But Dallas has struggled stopping the run and Kenny Clark is an All pro DT.  He was a bit upset at the trade announcement but after getting to meet is new teammates he's excited to be in Dallas and said "I'M HERE TO BALL " 

The line opened at Eagles -6.5 and since the trade has been bet up to 8 and even 8.5 in some spots.  There is also the consideration of the Super Bowl hangover.  Hedgie will be fading the emotional over reaction to the trade.

 Weather forecast calls for possible 25mph wind gusts and some showers.  That would lend itself to a lower scoring game which favors the dog here as well.
